A Leading Hardware Nation Prioritizes Product Quality—Status Further Established

As the EU's new architectural hardware access standard (EN 1670:2023) raises salt-spray testing requirements to 2,000 hours, Chinese manufacturing is answering the global quality challenge with hardcore technology. According to General Administration of Customs data, the first-quarter 2024 export qualification rate for hardware tools reached 98.2%—a ten-year high. In this quality campaign, Kunda Hardware, with 17 years of deep expertise in hardware manufacturing, has become a model of transformation: its stainless steel precision drive components passed 300,000 fatigue cycles at a German TÜV laboratory—three times beyond international standards—a microcosm of the evolution from "Made in China" to "Precision Made in China."

At the Kunda Smart Manufacturing Center in Cangzhou, Hebei, quality is embedded across the entire production chain: the in-house laboratory completes 12 metal fatigue tests daily, and every electrostatic coating line is fitted with laser gauges monitoring 20 μm film-thickness tolerance in real time. With 17 international credentials including US AAMA and EU CE certification, company products have been specified in landmark projects such as the Sydney Opera House renovation and Saudi Arabia's NEOM future city.

"Quality is not a figure on an inspection sheet—it is the unspoken trust of our customers," notes Kunda's general manager. When the company customized −50°C cold-resistant precision components for a Nordic client, the R&D team conducted a three-month extreme-cold field validation in Mohe, Heilongjiang, enabling products to break through cold-region deformation limits. This scenario-driven approach to technology upgrades is reshaping the global competitive coordinates of China's hardware industry.

Today, the association standard Technical Specification for Drive Locking Devices, drafted under Kunda's lead, has been approved for project initiation by the competent authority. Technologies pioneered by the company—such as anti-derailment pulley systems and zero-friction hinges—will provide key support as China transitions from a major hardware manufacturing nation to a technology-exporting powerhouse.
